Geneva Lakes Amazing Race Wrap-up (July 25)
Press Release

The Geneva Lakes Amazing Race raised $17,300 Saturday for two local charities, the TS Alliance and Inspiration Ministries. Nineteen teams participated in this action-packed adventure that began at Inspiration Ministries early in the morning. Racing teams, of two people each, milked cows at Featherstone Farms, hiked up Bald Bluff to find the stone elephant and scarfed down pasta at Rosa’s Pizza.

Dane Clark and Jeff Ridolfi of The Pacemakers won the Extreme Race, while Team Gordy’s Sheila Keefe and Rallee Whowell Chupich won the Recreational Race. The top fund-raisers were Erin and Todd Huemann of Team H2OGo, who raised more than $2,500.

The organizing committee extends special thanks to the more than 50 volunteers and the challenge hosts -- Whitewater Parks and Recreation, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Athletic Department, Great Midwest Rodeo, Camp Joy and the LaGrange General Store.

Event sponsors included Keefe Real Estate, Melka Roofing, GNC, Gordy’s Restaurant, Korean Martial Arts Center, Impressions Count Printing and Banner and Ideal Impressions Photography.

A pre-race party, hosted by Rumoles in Twin Lakes, featured pasta donated by Benny’s Pasta House and Grill of Delavan, Luigi’s in Kenosha, Papa Savero’s of Richmond, Ill., and Binanti’s Taste of Italy in Silver Lake. Racers and volunteers voted Binanti’s Taste of Italy as the “Most Amazing Pasta” in southeastern Wisconsin.

TSAlliance supports research to fight Tuberous Schlerosis Complex and support families who are dealing with the devastating effects of this disease. Inspiration Ministries, located near Walworth, provides residential, vocational, social and spiritual services to adults with physical and cognitive disabilities.
